Let's do the Tango and talk about the Blues

We have been receiving Tango mandarins from Rising C Ranches for the past ten days and they are amazing! They have a unique tart-sweet flavor and are loaded with juice. This citrus is perfect for juicing, providing a boost of vitamin C and fiber at the same time. They are a natural cold-fighter and a healthy way to start the morning. This week will bring a fresh arrival of Kumquats and "Mini Me" bagged small mandarins, which would make a great snack for the classroom. Seville Sour oranges will be received as well, very popular for ushering in the Persian New Year in March. Petra Produce and the Farmers on Wheels have a full line of citrus to meet all of your needs.

A quick note on blueberries. They are loaded with anti-oxidants, rich in fiber, vitamin C, manganese and potassium. They are naturally low in sugar and carbohydrates. We are fortunate to have blueberries in our stores year-round. We also get an ample supply of organic product as well. During the winter, most blueberries we get are imported from Chile, Peru and Mexico. There is also a very small harvest from Southern California, grown mostly in Oxnard, Orange County, San Luis Obisbo and Santa Barbara.

Come visit us at Petra Produce on the Golden Gate Produce Terminal, see what we have to offer or go online and order one of our seasonal mixed fruit boxes from thefarmersonwheels
