Well, well, well, what do we have here, hmm?
Apricots, Cherries, White flesh Peaches and Nectarines oh my!
That's right, the California stone fruit season has begun at long last. We've had new crop of cherries for a week now and our first Polar Ice White flesh Nectarines just arrived at Petra Produce located on the Golden Gate Produce Terminal. Currently, we have been receiving Kylese and Poppy cots and Ivory May White flesh Peaches.
Family Tree Farms, based in Reedley, Calif-
ornia and Petra Produce have shared a strong business relationship for years and we look forward to supplying our customers at Petra and The Farmers on Wheels with a wide range of Apricots, Apriums, Cherries, Peaches, Plums and Pluots this season! The early fruit arriving on the
produce market is on the green or immature side, with a slight watery flavor, which is due in part to the heavy rains California experienced this winter and early spring. The sugar levels and flavor will improve as we move out of the early varieties and into warmer weather in the San Joaquin Valley. So, gear up fellow fruit lovers, it's going to be a tasty summer!
