Tis the seasons -Live a healthy life

I am very excited to be aboard here at The Farmers on Wheels and its parent company Petra Produce. I have always had an interest and a passion for fresh fruits and vegetables, whether that be talking to growers and shippers over the phone or in person on the farms, gathering information from wholesalers on produce markets across the country or even discussing exciting new commodities and varieties with all involved within the produce industry. We here at the Farmers on Wheels are looking forward to bringing you fresh locally grown fruits and seasonal favorites that pair well with all festive holidays. We will have a steady supply of delicious apples and pears from the Pacific Northwest, pomegranates, persimmons and a wide variety of citrus including navel oranges, clementines, satsumas, tangerines and specialty such as Buddha Hand, Etrog, Uzu and variegated lemons and Sudachi limes. We will offer fruit boxes and also festive boxes containing ornamental pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn and hard squashes that are the perfect gift for family, friends and business associates at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We want to provide you with the best fresh fruit and seasonal items possible to ensure that your holidays are memorable ones. Please visit our website and look around and take advantage of our easy order process to kick off the seasons! Finally, we encourage you to reach out to us with questions, contributions and interests. We want to be the source for great tasting fruit and seasonal items for you, your friends, co-workers and business clients throughout the year. We have a passion for fresh produce and we want to share that experience, its just that simple.

This time of year always brings back memories for me. Autumn colors, a slight nip in the air, shorter days and of course the much anticipated holiday seasons. I was born and raised in Eastern Washington in small, agrarian cities such as Othello, Quincy and Yakima. I graduated from Washington State University with a BS in Agriculture and went on to work for the USDA for the next 29 years. As a Market Reporter, I covered terminal produce markets in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle and San Francisco. Over the course of my life I worked brief stints on a fishing boat in Alaska, A winery, Hop harvest, Asparagus broker and fruit company in Washington.

I will be writing here more about my passion, healthy life based on what you eat, and in the mean time, if you have question, contact me at
